Description
Brioche French Toast is a luxurious breakfast favorite made by soaking thick, buttery slices of brioche bread in a sweet and fragrant egg custard. Cooked to golden perfection with a crisp outside and tender inside, it’s ideal for special mornings, brunches, or holidays.
Ingredients
-
4 large eggs
-
¾ cup whole milk
-
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
-
10 slices brioche bread (about ¾-inch thick)
-
Optional toppings: maple syrup, fresh berries, powdered sugar, whipped cream
Instructions
-
In a shallow bowl or pie plate, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until fully blended.
-
Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
-
Dip each slice of brioche into the custard mixture, allowing it to soak 15-20 seconds per side. Let excess drip off.
-
Place soaked bread slices in the hot skillet. Cook 3-4 minutes per side or until deep golden brown and slightly crisp. Add remaining butter as needed between batches.
-
Transfer cooked slices to a warm plate or keep warm in a low oven while cooking remaining slices.
-
Serve immediately topped with maple syrup, fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or whipped cream as desired.
