Description

Soft, buttery, and sweet Cinnamon Knots are perfect bite-sized treats swirled with cinnamon sugar and baked to golden perfection. Great as a breakfast pastry or snack, they’re simple to make and irresistibly delicious.


Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F)

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 large egg

For Cinnamon Sugar:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.

  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg to dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms. Knead for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  5. Punch down dough and turn onto a lightly floured surface. Divide dough into 12 equal portions.

  6. Roll each portion into a 10-inch rope. Tie into a loose knot and place on prepared baking sheets.

  7. Let knots rise for 20-30 minutes until puffy.

  8. Brush knots with melted butter, then sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.

  9. Bake 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

  10. Serve warm, optionally with a glaze or cream cheese frosting.
