Description

A hearty casserole layered with seasoned ground beef, cheese, and crunchy Dorito chips, baked until bubbly and golden. It’s a comfort food favorite that’s simple to assemble and packed with bold flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade taco seasoning)

  • 1 cup salsa

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese, divided

  • 1 large bag (about 9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed

  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed (optional)

  • 1 cup cooked corn (optional)

  • Optional garnishes: sliced green onions, jalapeños, cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.

  3. Stir in taco seasoning, salsa, black beans, and corn (if using). Simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream and 1 cup of cheese.

  4. Spread half the crushed Doritos in the bottom of the baking dish. Layer beef mixture evenly over the chips. Top with remaining crushed Doritos and remaining cheese.

  5. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through.

  6. Garnish with green onions, jalapeños, or cilantro if desired.
