Description
Boom Boom Shrimp is a popular appetizer featuring crispy fried shrimp tossed in a creamy, tangy, and spicy sauce. The sauce blends mayonnaise, sriracha, and sweet chili to create a perfect balance of flavors that “booms” with every bite. This dish is quick to prepare and makes a fantastic starter or snack.
Ingredients
1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Boom Boom Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1–2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon lime juice or rice vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Toss shrimp in dry mixture until evenly coated.
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry shrimp in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
In a separate bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients until smooth.
Toss fried shrimp gently with Boom Boom sauce until evenly coated.
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions or cilantro, if desired.
