Ingredients
Chicken Wings, 4 lbs
Buttermilk, 1 cup
All-Purpose Flour, 1/2 cup
Baking Powder, 1 tablespoon
Garlic Powder, 1 teaspoon
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels and remove excess fat from joints
Cover wings in buttermilk and refrigerate for 4 hours
Mix flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl
Dredge each wing fully in the coating mixture
Place wings in a single layer in air fryer. Cook at 400°F for 22-25 minutes, flipping halfway
Let wings rest on paper towels for 5 minutes to drain excess
Notes
Use parchment-lined air fryer basket to prevent sticking
Add 1 tbsp hot sauce to coating mix for extra kick
Don’t overcrowd the basket – cook in batches if needed
Brush melted butter on wings before finishing under broiler for 2 minutes added crisp
Underseasoning fix: Add 1 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp onion powder to flour mix
Avoid opening air fryer mid-cook. Set timer and check only in final 5 minutes
Skip the buttermilk fix: Use non-dairy buttermilk alternative
