Fajita Marinade is a zesty, citrusy blend of lime juice, oil, and spices that tenderizes and infuses chicken, beef, or shrimp with vibrant Mexican-inspired flavors. Using this marinade adds a fresh, smoky, and slightly spicy kick to fajitas or grilled meats.
Ingredients
¼ cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
⅓ cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon dried oregano (preferably Mexican oregano)
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Optional: ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together all ingredients until well combined.
Pour marinade over meat or shrimp in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 2-4 hours, or overnight for maximum flavor and tenderness.
Remove from marinade and grill, sauté, or cook fajitas as desired.
